General Session – Communicating Effectively with Culturally Different People

Culturally different people don’t just look different; they think and communicate differently because they were taught to think and communicate differently. When people who were educated in different parts of the world work together, these differences often result in misunderstandings even in situations where all the people involved have the best intentions at heart. Using insightful diagrams, powerful anecdotes and experiential exercises, this presentation analyzes the root causes of some of the most common cross-cultural misunderstandings observed in Canadian organizations in order to provide concrete, tried-and-tested solutions.
